IRC
stands for Internet Relay Chat and is an internet messager that uses
channels (similar to chatrooms for AOL). There's also the ability to
have "private messages" to individuals (similar to talking one-on-one
with AOL). To access IRC you have to get a program that allows you to
connect. The most common program used is mIRC. Once you download this
you have to set up the program. The reason for this is because there's
more then one server you can connect to. To setup, click on "file,"
"options," then "connect" (should be the uppermost option). You need to
fill out all the info there.
To
connect to a server, use the dropdown on the mIRC options to select
Undernet (what Vader's Fist uses) on the top dropdown and a server from
the second dropdown. Try to select a server that is geographically
close to you though some you may not access. When you are ready to
connect, click on the Connect to IRC server! button.
To
connect to an Undernet channel, type in the channel in the blank space
in the Channels Folder and click JOIN or, in any window, type "/join
*****" the ***** being the channel name ie /join #vader's_fist.
To
go to Vader's Fists channel, you will have to put /join #vader's_fist.
Once you get there, there's usually people there that can help you
customize it. Once you download this the problem is getting on to t and
we can be found in #vader's_fist on the Undernet.
